Best options to ski without buy a season pass
The weather is changing and ski areas are getting out the snow making machines. It is the time of year where skiers are contemplating buying a season pass. Pricing on passes have started climbing, it is time to make a purchase!
Many people want to ski, but are worried they won't make it to the slopes enough to justify the investment in a season pass. With the EPIC local pass starting at $705 and IKON pass starting at $929 , it is a financial commitment to ski.
What are the alternatives if you don't want to buy a Ikon or Epic pass and still want to ski?
Here are 3 solutions.
1. Keystone Plus Pass-- $377. Keystone plus pass is unlimited days skiing and riding at Keystone Resort with blackout dates over the holidays. The best part of this pass is it includes 5 days at Crested Butte. It is almost worth it to buy this pass and go to my favorite resort, Crested Butte. This is a great deal for a someone who loves Keystone and wants unlimited opportunity to hit the slopes.
2. Winter Park Flex Tickets $89/ day. This is a great deal for Winter Park tickets. It won't get any less expensive. Winter Park flex tickets allows you to buy 2-4 days of skiing for $89/ day.
This allows you to buy your ticket today and choose your date later.
The detail to know on this deal is they have to be used consecutively and there are black out dates. This would be the deal I would choose if I know I am doing 1-2 ski weekends over the season.
3. EPIC Day Pass $101/day-- Similar to Winter Park's Flex days, Epic day pass allows you to buy 1-7 days of skiing or riding at a locked in low rate. Epic offer multiple options (for a premium) of which mountains (Vail costs more), and if you want to ski over blackout dates (Holiday weekends).
Don't Delay! Keystone Flex and EPIC day pass prices go up again October 11 and the most years season pass sales end by Thanksgiving/ early December. Don't be caught paying $245 to ski 1 day at Vail.
